Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival in San Jose

Your journey kicks off at the Juan Santamaria Airport, nestled in Costa Rica’s Central Valley at 1150 meters. A warm welcome from your English-speaking guide marks the beginning of your thrilling Costa Rican adventure.

Day 2 San Jose to Fortuna

Embarq on a morning hike, exploring the rich biodiversity of the Lodge’s private reserve. Later, venture to the iconic Arenal Volcano region, known for its dramatic conical shape. Engage in various activities around the volcano, from traversing hanging bridges to relaxing in natural hot springs.

Day 3 Fortuna - Day Break

Experience the thrill of a morning cable car ride for a canopy tour or a forest walk. Indulge in an authentic Costa Rican cooking experience for lunch. Afternoons are dedicated to hot springs, hotel exploration, or an adventurous hike in Arenal Volcano National Park

Day 4 Fortuna to Tamarindo

Embarq on a heart-pounding 4×4 adventure, navigating river crossings and challenging trails from Lake Arenal to Tilarán. Witness the breathtaking Guanacaste volcanic range, catching glimpses of Tenorio and Miravalles volcanoes. As the sun sets, settle into a lodge near Rincon de la Vieja volcano, passing the Pan-American Highway for a sunset experience near Tamarindo village.

Day 5 Tamarindo to Nosara

Savor the morning at Tamarindo Beach before journeying towards the Nicoya Peninsula. Take a trail to the highest point,

offering panoramic views of Nicoya Gulf and the Pacific coastline.

Day 6 Nosara to Paquera

Dedicate the day to exploring the diverse landscapes of the Nicoya Peninsula. Navigate beaches and rivers, accessible only to 4×4 vehicles, starting from our hotel.

Conclude the day at our unique hotel on a private island, capturing a stunning sunset.

Day 7 Paquera - Daybreak

Spend a full day on Isla Chiquita, an idyllic retreat amidst the tranquil, crystal-clear waters of the gulf. Enjoy activities like snorkeling, stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking, and nature trails to observe local flora and fauna.

Day 8 Paquera to Quepos

Depart from the hotel for an early ferry to Puntarenas. Continue along the central Pacific coast to Tárcoles village, pausing at Tárcoles bridge for a glimpse of the country’s largest American crocodiles. Proceed to Quepos village, passing through palm plantations, and reaching our rainforest destination.

Day 9 Quepos to Uvita

Post-breakfast, explore rural and technical trails with stunning rainforest views. Hike to beautiful waterfalls, then continue the journey to Uvita. Conclude the day by witnessing a breathtaking sunset on the Pacific coast.

Day 10 Uvita to Bahia Drake

After breakfast, head to the South Pacific coast via the “Costanera” road, passing palm plantations en route to Sierpe village, the gateway to the Osa Peninsula. Take a local ferry through exceptional landscapes, crossing rivers to reach Bahía Drake, the last village before Corcovado National Park.

Day 11 Bahia Drake - Daybreak

Explore the renowned Corcovado National Park, a gem in Costa Rica’s park system, globally acclaimed for its remarkable biodiversity. Originally exploited by gold prospectors, the park, spanning 40,000 hectares, now safeguards over 5% of the world’s biodiversity and 10% of the American continent’s mammal species.

Day 12 Bahia Drake to San Gerardo de Dota

After breakfast, ascend from the South Pacific to the high mountains of the Talamanca Range via the South Pan-American Highway, reaching over 3000 meters. Arrive at the small mountain village of San Gerardo de Dota, renowned for accessible quetzal sightings. Nestled at 2,000 meters, this peaceful Dota Valley region is perfect for a tranquil night, appealing to birdwatchers and nature enthusiasts.

Day 13 San Gerardo de Dota to San Jose

Pre-breakfast, explore hotel trails for the famous Quetzal. Enjoy breakfast before heading to the Central Valley. In the late afternoon, return rental vehicles and check into a San José hotel in the heart of the city.

Day 14 San Jose - Departure

Savour the morning in San José before departing for the airport according to international flight schedules. As you bid farewell, carry the vibrant memories of your Costa Rican adventure, a 13-day escapade into the heart of ‘Pura Vida.’
