DAY 1
Arrival in Amman
Driving Distance: 0 kms
Amman, the capital of Jordan, is a fascinating city of contrasts — a unique blend of old and new, ideally situated on a hilly area between the desert and the fertile Jordan Valley. In the commercial heart of the city, ultra-modern buildings, hotels, smart restaurants, art galleries and boutiques rub shoulders comfortably with traditional coffee shops and tiny artisans’ workshops.
DAY 2
Driving Distance: 0 kms
A day trip to Jerash – We will spend the day exploring of the most beautiful and well preserved Roman cities in the world ! Evening back in Amman for some delicious local dinner.
DAY 3
Driving Distance: 280 kms
After breakfast, we drive towards Madaba – an ancient town in Jordan – known for its 6th century mosaic map of the Holy Land in the Greek Orthodox Church of St. Georgeand afterwards drive to Wadi Arab desert known for its natural gardens with spectacular sandstone canyon which meanders towards Wadi Rum – our Final stop for today!
DAY 4
Driving Distance: 80 kms
We spend the day exploring the desert of Wadi Rum.
DAY 5
Driving Distance: 135 kms
We drive from Wadi Rum to Petra via the Sharah mountains. The desert between Wadi Rum and Petra is awe inspiring in its beauty and extraordinary moon like. Overnight in Petra.
DAY 6
Driving Distance: 0 kms
We spend the whole day exploring the UNESCO world heritage site of Petra Surrounded by imposing mountains and approached through a deep, narrow cleft in the rocks, known as the Siq, it is a unique and unforgettable place, strange and otherworldly, enhanced by the play of light and shadow, an altogether overwhelming experience.
DAY 7
Driving Distance: 320 kms
Today we step off the well-worn path of Petra and drive into Shobak mountains. This drive will lead us into the countryside, with very old but still inhabited villages dotted around the foothills of the mountain range. In this beautiful green space of terraced orchards, we will see a variety of trees native to Jordan, including pistachio, fig and “Roman” olive trees. Our final destination for today – DEAD SEA !!!
DAY 8
Driving Distance: 0 kms
Dead Sea Day – At 423 meters below sea level, the Dead Sea is officially the lowest place on earth making it an even more fascinating destination to visit. 34% salt content – makes it impossible to sink ☺ So we spend the day – Just floating ☺ ☺!
